When we think of cardio, most of us think of running, biking, and other exercises of that nature. Cardio in a gym setting seems to be relegated strictly to the elliptical, at least in perception. Fortunately for those that hate these types of exercises, cardio is not limited to these few workouts. In actuality, cardio is anything that raises your heart rate and strengthens your cardiovascular system. The following are a few exercises (which you may even be doing already) that “count” as cardio.
Okay, so you may hate burpees even if you didn’t already know that they are cardio, but burpees are effective. Burpees work nearly every muscle in your body in quick succession. This is ideal for burning fat and serves to raise your heart rate while at the same time toning and strengthening your core, arms, and legs.
